MovieManMenzel's MovieLand Mania

While the television show was popular back in the 60s, Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway work to bring the popular story of Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 to a whole new generation.  And boy do they do it in fashion.

Rachel Getting Married Review [Nov. 14th, 2008|02:41 am]

Anne Hathaway goes against stereotype Rachel Getting Married, a family drama about a recovering drug addict who is attempting to reconnect with her family.  The premise is simple, though the approach is unique and clever, making for a great piece of art.

Boasting the names of Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr, Tropic Thunder has enough star power to entertain and enthrall.  But moreover, the film carries a strong premise, a rarity in comedy films and a huge plus for viewers.

With the return of Guillermo Del Toro and the cast of the original Hellboy, I had high expectations for this summer followup.  Sadly, I was ruthlessly disappointed as the story failed to materialize.  Thankfully, the Blu-Ray disc helps to propel the film's lone spectacle, its visuals.

Starring the newly in-demand Paul Rudd and that guy from American Pie, David Wain's Role Models is a smart and funny comedy about two men who must get their acts together so they can serve as adequate mentors.

The time has finally come for Kevin Smith's near NC-17 flick, Zack and Miri Make a Porno to finally hit theaters.  And while the film is somewhat offensive, it is ultimately hilarious as it provides a non-stop laughathon that is sure to please even the most stern of spirits.

While Angelina Jolie is expected to turn in one outstanding performance after the over, she outdoes herself as Christine Collin's a single mother who becomes victim to the LAPD's game of corrupt politics in Clint Eastwood's Changeling.

Though I spoke with him last year shortly before the release of Saw IV, Tobin Bell had a lot more to say about the new installment of the little indie franchise that could, making me believe that this actor has plenty more 'traps' up his sleeve.

The guys of East High are back, and this time, they are taking things to the big screen in what is said to be the last chapter in the money-making franchise.  And though they are leaving, they are going out in fine fashion as they get an obvious financial boost, bringing more fun and excitement to the big screen.
